At The Neighborhood Groomer, your pet’s safety and well-being are our top priorities. We take every precaution to ensure a safe and enjoyable grooming experience. However, due to the unpredictable nature of animals, unforeseen situations may arise. Please carefully read our Service Terms and Conditions before booking:

Pricing & Estimates

  • All quoted prices before grooming are estimates. Final pricing is determined by factors such as coat condition, pet temperament, and grooming complexity.

  • Upon physical inspection, the groomer will provide a good faith estimated price. Additional charges may apply for matted coats or difficult-to-manage pets.

Medical Conditions & Senior Pets

  • Grooming may expose underlying medical conditions or aggravate pre-existing issues. Signs of stress or medical complications can occur during or after grooming. If severe stress is observed, the groomer reserves the right to terminate the session for the pet’s well-being.

  • Senior pets have an increased risk of injury or stress during grooming. While we prioritize comfort and safety, senior pets are groomed at the owner’s risk. The Neighborhood Groomer is not liable for any health complications, including but not limited to injury, stress, or sudden health conditions (including death).

Tranquilizers

We do not tranquilize pets for grooming and will not accept pets that show signs of sedation.

Female Dogs in Heat

  • Owners must schedule grooming at least two weeks before or after their dog’s heat cycle.

  • We do not accept dogs currently in heat. If a pet in heat is presented for grooming, a $20 fee will be applied.

Fleas & Ticks

  • If fleas or ticks are found, we will use a flea shampoo to address the infestation.

  • We do not perform flea dips due to potential health risks. However, flea treatments are not guaranteed to be 100% effective. An additional fee may apply for flea and tick removal services.

Matted Coats & Grooming Risks

  • Severely tangled or matted pets have an increased risk of injury, stress, and trauma. While every precaution is taken, mat removal can result in:

    • Nicks, clipper irritation, or skin sensitivity

    • Ear hematomas due to mat removal stress

    • Mental or physical stress following grooming

  • The Neighborhood Groomer follows a “Humanity Before Vanity” approach and will not be held liable for issues arising from neglect before grooming.

Aggressive Pets & Safety Policy

  • If a pet has a history of aggression or biting, The Neighborhood Groomer reserves the right to refuse service.

  • All bites will be reported to local authorities as required by law.

Right to Refuse Service

  • The Neighborhood Groomer reserves the right to refuse service at any time, for any reason.

  • Owners must disclose any known dangers or behavioral concerns about their pet before grooming.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

  • Late Cancellations (Less than 24 hours’ notice): A $100 cancellation fee applies if an appointment is canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled time.

  • No-Show Policy:

    • Clients must provide their pet within 15 minutes of the groomer’s arrival.

    • If the pet is not presented within the grace period, the groomer may leave to maintain schedule integrity.

    • A $100 no-show fee will be invoiced via email. This fee must be paid before scheduling future appointments. Unpaid fees will be processed into collections.

Arrival Time & Delays

Due to the nature of mobile grooming, exact arrival times are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to traffic, weather, or extended service at previous appointments. Clients will be notified of any significant delays when possible.

Pet Safety & Grooming Environment

  • To ensure pet safety, the mobile grooming van will remain locked during the grooming session.

  • Please do not disturb the groomer during the appointment, as interruptions can increase the risk of injury.

Photography & Marketing

  • The Neighborhood Groomer may take before-and-after photos of pets for use in marketing, social media, and promotional materials.

  • Owners who do not wish for their pet’s photo to be used must notify The Neighborhood Groomer before the appointment.

Payment Policy

  • Payment is due at the time of service.

  • Accepted payment methods: Cash, all major credit cards, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay.

  • The groomer will provide specific payment details when requested after grooming is complete.

  • Non-payment may be reported as Theft of Services to the appropriate authorities.

Communication Policy

  • Due to the nature of mobile grooming, I am not obligated to provide immediate responses to client messages.

  • Phone calls are not accepted. The company operates on a text-only communication basis to ensure that all information is properly recorded and saved, allowing for efficient service and clear communication with clients.

  • This communication method enables us to maintain a professional and organized approach while providing the best service possible.

  • Business hours are 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and while I am working with clients and pets throughout these hours, I will make every effort to respond as promptly as possible during those hours in the order messages are received.

Additional Information

  • All information regarding services, policies, pricing, and bookings is readily available on my website at Theneighborhoodgroomer.com and through my booking platform, MoeGo.

  • The MoeGo number is not a personal cell phone and does not accept calls, group chats, or video calls.

  • My personal phone number will not be provided for client communication.

  • All messages must remain professional and relevant to the grooming service provided.

Agreement & Liability Release

  • By booking an appointment with The Neighborhood Groomer, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • I have read and understand The Neighborhood Groomer’s policies.

  • I accept that all grooming is performed at my own risk, and I will not hold The Neighborhood Groomer liable for any injury, stress, or medical conditions that may arise.

  • I agree to abide by the cancellation and payment policies, including any applicable fees.

  • By accepting any bookings from The Neighborhood Groomer, you agree to all of the above terms and conditions.
